"Fresh from the market" by Lorena Siminovich

This awesome image is going to be the official "menu planner" image, thanks to Lorena Siminovich, the artist who generously allowed me to use!

The above image is so perfect for what I was looking for to respresent the weekly menu planner posts.  I just called up Lorena, the artist who illustrated this cool veggies pic and she said it was fine if I used it!  Neat-o  🙂  Her website is here: http://www.lorenasiminovich.com/index.htm  and her images are really fantastic, I will be buying one for myself in the future for sure!

Anyway, on to the menu planner for this week:

Monday~  We had bowl-o-beans-n-rice  (which is a classic Ward family dinner harking back 10+ yeas to our humble beginnings in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans.  We lived across the street from the coolest little cafe in the world, Cafe Flora.  We would stumble over to Flora morning, noon and night for everything from cokes to wheatgrass juice to this, the bowl of beans and rice.  It would come with rie, black beans, onion, salsa, lettuce, cheese and sour cream, for like 3-bucks or something fantastic and it was truely simple food at it’s best.  Ours was vegan this time, but still good.)

Tuesday~ Tonight it will be veggie sandwiches with hummus

Wednesday~ Spring rolls

Thursday~ Hearts of Palm salad with avocado, red onion and oranges, mmmm

Friday~ Vegan frozen pizzas…..classy, right?

Have a great week!
