Name Ruby’s Bywater Cafe and Win Cool Vintage Stuff From Our Houses!

Choose these lovely, rose-bedecked curtain panels and they will bathe whatever room they grace in the sweetest, coolest glow....there are four panels~Ruby

Okee-dokee. So, in a strange twist of fate, it just so happens that both Ruby and I are moving soon. Which means we’re both in the process of sifting through our stuff (mostly artwork and home decor and tchotchkes from the thrift store), and man, we have cool taste in stuff.

The trouble is, we both HATE packing stuff.   And we hate not having a reason to buy MORE cool tchotchkes from the thrift store.   So, instead of giving it all back to the thrift store, we’re going to give some of it to you. For free.

All you have to do is vote on a name for Ruby’s future Bywater cafe. (See previous post for the list of names and  description of the cuisine/vibe). Ruby will pick the winner, and that lucky, lucky little genius, whoever they are, will win our stuff.   Plus, I suspect that Ruby will let whoever it is have a free meal once the place is up and running.   She’s nice like that.

Click “more” to see all the delightful goodies up for grabs:

From Emerald’s house:

…this freshly-polished, vintage brass sunburst pillar-candle holder (there’s a wee mirror in the center of the sun) and this toile-ish tasseled table runner.

Vintage 3' x 5' American flag and cute polka-dot tea light holders

Duo of 8" x10" Asian-y collages

Creamic quintet: Two elephants, one giraffe, a wee vase, and a hand-painted, ethnically-correct bust of Jesus

Hi~  This is Ruby and I will go even further and say that whoever picks the winning name will have their portrait displayed inside the cafe, like a shrine!

So these are the things I have to choose from:

This is a little bit of cuteness in the form of a sugar pot, a couple of cute tea-cups and a teapot as well as a tiny ruffled bowl and a tiny tea-pot plate. I might have more tea-cups to include if you chose this set.

A set of two Blaze books, how cool for that young reader or just someone who loved these or loves horses.

One of two owl/rug type wall hanging I have, this one is framed and about 2ft x 1 1/2 ft....that is a rough guess.

This is other owl wall hanging and to install it you screw the rod to your wall, I will enclose all screws and the rod, of course. This is about 3 1/2 ft. x 3 ft, again, a guess.

A container "set" including one elaborate tin with lilies on the top, one pretty little ash-tray, good for coraling small things, a mid-century baby pink dish with lid, a mid-century gold colored oblong dish and a flat rectangular dish that looks 30's-ish. Suffice it to say they are quite adorable.

A cute little 70's girl-on-wood. I would do this with the blaze books for a little girl if someone wanted.

Some great old movies for someone who has a VHS that still works!

So that’s what I’ve got to choose from and of course the winner can mix and match with in reason.  I would do a bunch of different small things in one box, as many as I could fit, but the big owl pics are gonna have to be stand alone unless I could fit the Blaze books or the little-70’s-girl-on-wood picture in with the owl-rug wall hanging after it was all folded and everything.

But if you see something you really want and haven’t won I would send it to you for the price of shipping, so keep that in mind, too!

Delurk and vote, yes this means you! And TWO giveaways… Hmmm, is this a random St. Patty’s day post? Or is it more than that…?

If nobody picks those owl wall-hangings, they should go IN the CAFE because they are so flipping cute!

What a fabulous idea for passing on the stuff that you don’t need or love. I’m an American living in Germany, and I know exactly what you’re describing. Ugh. Moving. Packing. Picking the things that matter most.
Lots of luck for huge successes in the matter of STUFF.

Isn’t that just the worst part of moving, bringing all that STUFF!

Ok, I’ve been thinking about this all weekend. And I think I’ve got it. Ready??…

    “Curly’s”

Wanna know why I think its perfect??

    1) its fun to say
    2) sounds like its been there a long time
    3) you and your girly are curly
    4)its cute
5)its also a little manly, kind of-

BTW.. the bywater’s best coffee/cheap eats place just left the hood. And they are really needing a cool place that’s doing what you’re doing. I am so excited about this.
ps.. If you don’t like this name, I will come up with more.

I also like “Queen B’s” Except it would be better if your name was a “b” name. Anyhoo,. I’m rambling all over your blog. kissesxx.
