Hello everyone, happy Easter! Below is a photo of Ruby and I when we lived together in Hot Springs, AR. This must have been in 2006. We bought matching Easter dresses at our favorite store (the store was called the “Half of Half”) and got all dressed up for church. The church we went to in Hot Springs was a little tiny Methodist church, very quaint and small-town-country. There were never more than twenty people in the congregation, and everyone except for us was a senior citizen. My favorite thing about that church was the light inside. It came through the windows all golden and warm, and tinted the pews and the people a kind of vague sepia tone. It made me feel like I had gone back in time. This was the year we gave up sugar for Lent, and I’m pretty sure we spent the afternoon gorging ourselves on chocolate bunnies and jellybeans. What are everyone’s Easter plans? This year I’ll be eating turkey with my family after church. Then we’ll probably go play washers in the front yard and drink margaritas. That’s sort of our family tradition. Does anyone have any unusual traditions?
